Sonata Guitars are an acoustic quintet with a wide ranging repertoire including classical, Spanish, world music and popular hits.Our ensemble is perfect for weddings, celebrations, and intimate occasions. We aim to help make your day a huge success filled with wonderful and everlasting memories.Our music creates a soothing, chilled and relaxed setting which will add a perfect ambience to your special occasion.We are an acoustic ensemble, but we do have sound equipment if required to fill larger spaces.We can’t wait to work with you and create memories you can cherish forever. Biographies

Nicole Alderson

Nicole is an accomplished and established award-winning musician, teacher and conductor who has enjoyed a wide-ranging and successful 40-year career in music.Nicole has conducted many youth and county classical guitar ensembles and conducts the adult Classical Guitar Ensemble of the East Riding of Yorkshire. During her time spent as deputy head of the guitar department at Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust she also, as part of her role, directed guitar residential courses and now co-runs a classical guitar retreat for adults. Nicole also plays piano and clarinet.

Cameron Frankish

Cameron has achieved an outstanding level of musicianship at an early age. He began playing the classical guitar at the age of six and achieved his Associate of the London College of Music at just 15, after earning his DIPLCM at 14. At the age of nine Cameron then began to learn the piano and is now grade 8 in pianoforte.He is a sensitive and thoughtful classical guitarist and his love and passion for the instrument has also blossomed from his time living in the culturally rich cities of Milan, Cairo, Khartoum and Shanghai. Cameron is also a fine electric and acoustic guitarist.

Egle Rostron

Egle is a talented classical guitarist who studied for 10 years at the Balio Dvariono music school in Vilnius, Lithuania. Classical guitar being her main instrument, Egle was a member of the classical guitar ensemble “The Accidentals” when living in Edinburgh where she studied medicine.Egle works as an Ophthalmologist and alongside her demanding job she is also a children’s author. Egle also plays piano.

Stewart Doyle

Stewart started learning the electric guitar at the age of 10 and is a
rhythmic and exploratory player. Stewart joined various school and theatre bands as lead guitar before joining a “new wave” group gigging around Leeds in the 1970’s and 80's.
It was in the 1980’s that Stewart began his successful journey as a classical guitarist. Stewart is passionate about the overlaps between technology and music; enhanced whilst working in IT at a university and his years spent as a cyber security specialist. Stewart also plays violin and piano.

David Whittaker

David has played classical guitar since he was a child and is a refined and considered player. He enjoys a wide variety of genres and continues to have a “lifelong love affair” with his guitar.Alongside music, David studied Fine Art at York University and has taught not only in the UK but overseas in the Far East. David is now Head of Art at a leading Yorkshire independent school whilst also illustrating children’s picture books. David also plays the piano.
